Acolyte of the Chirurgeon

A length of waxed surgical thread, dark with old blood. The Chirurgeon's followers carry these in folded oilcloths. Some still hum faintly when the wind is wrong.

A vial of slow-pulsing black-red fluid, drawn from a body the Chirurgeon refused to let die. It clots impossibly slowly. A single drop is said to bind a wound that should never have healed.
